Questions about joining the loop.
What is considered gently used, reusable Bubble Wrap?
Gently used, reusable bubble wrap is free of dirt, food residue, liquids, adhesives, shipping labels, postal stickers, and packing tape. If it's clean, dry and free of all labels and tape, it's suitable for reuse.
When should I post a pick-up?
It is recommended to post a pick-up when a large bag is filled with gently reusable bubble wrap/packaging materials.
What time can I pick up?
If picking up from a business, check business hours and make arrangements via the Bubble Loop app or website. If picking up from a home make arrangements via the Bubble Loop app or website.
How does it save a reseller money?
By reusing gently used packaging materials that are sourced from our Pass Forward Member community and shared for reuse.
What should I do when I get a package with bubble wrap?
Remove any kind of clear tape and place clean bubble wrap into your designated collection bag to pass it forward.
What difference does this actually make for the environment?
Every piece of bubble wrap or packaging paper that gets reused is one less piece heading to a landfill or incinerator. Bubble wrap in particular is made from plastic that can take hundreds of years to break down, and much of it isn't accepted by curbside recycling programs. By keeping it in circulation, our community helps cut down on new plastic production, reduces the energy and raw materials needed to manufacture replacement packaging, and keeps neighborhoods and waterways a little cleaner.
Can businesses participate?
Yes! Absolutely, business owners are a key part of our community, since they regularly receive or generate packaging materials.
Why is reuse important?
Reusing packaging materials helps reduce plastic waste, lowers carbon emissions, and keeps valuable materials in circulation longer.
How does my small contribution add up?
It might feel like one bag of bubble wrap doesn't move the needle, but circular reuse works because it's collective. Every business and neighbor that saves a bag instead of tossing it is directly reducing demand for new packaging materials - and multiplied across a whole community, that adds up to a real reduction in plastic waste and carbon footprint over time.
How does the collection process work?
Pass Forward Members announce available packaging materials on our shared map. A blue pin means materials are ready and available. Claim a pin by clicking it - this turns the pin green, letting Access Members know pick-up is pending.
What time can I pick up? (businesses & homes)
If picking up from a business, check their posted hours and arrange a time through the Bubble Loop app or website. If picking up from a home, arrange a time directly through the app or website.
Is reused bubble wrap still effective?
Yes. Gently used and intact bubble wrap offers the same protective performance as new material.
How does using reused packaging help the planet?
Every order you pack with reused bubble wrap or paper is one less piece of new plastic manufactured and one less piece sent to a landfill. Producing new packaging materials takes oil, water, and energy - reusing what's already out there sidesteps all of that. As a reseller, choosing reused packaging is a simple way to shrink your business's environmental footprint order by order.
Is this something I can highlight to my own customers?
Absolutely. Many shoppers care about sustainability, and using reused, eco-friendly packaging is a great story to share in your shop policies or packing slips. It shows customers you're thinking about the planet, not just the sale.
